This smaller version combines the expressionistic beginning, several photographs and two

other paintings based on the stream, Flow and Letting Go. They were all combined in

Photoshop, manipualtions were made to the layers and then I went back to the stream

to paint on top of the printed collage.

In the previous year I had been making artworks that combined photography and painting

and I aspired to get the paint and photographic detail to spin around together

with the structure of the spinning stream. When I went on to the much larger image, Labyrinths,

I used different photographs to increase the resolution for the larger scale and to set up slightly

different relationships.
