For this painting I returned to the stream with a full sized printed version of "From the Center"

which had emphasized the light striking the rocks rather than the stream. I wanted to bring

the emphasis back to the water, which was overflowing. I changed the palette so that the

rocks were closer to their "real" tonal range, much darker than the water. I changed

the patterns and color of the vegetation. In the end, almost all of the painting was re-done.
